According to an exclusive transfer report by Inside Futbol, Everton have joined a Premier League rival in making an enquiry about the possibility of signing AZ Alkmaar winger Oussama Idrissi, who is seriously outperforming Toffees star Bernard this season and looks to be a star in the making.

What's the word, then?

Well, Inside Futbol report that the Merseyside outfit and English top-flight rivals West Ham United are leading the Premier League charge for the 23-year-old, who has scored 13 goals and provided a further eight assists in 33 appearances in all competitions for AZ this term.

The report adds that AS Roma are also keen on the Moroccan-born attacker who holds a Dutch passport, and that the Eredivisie outfit have put a price tag on his head for between £17m-£20m.

Would he be a good signing?

On paper at least it looks as though he certainly would be.

Everton have struggled for creativity in wide areas this season with Theo Walcott for example providing two assists in 21 outings in total in 2019/20, with fellow winger Bernard picking up two goals and two assists in 18 appearances.

That means the latter has 17 fewer goal contributions than Idrissi this term, which hints at the quality the 23-year-old has in his locker even if the Eredivisie may be inferior to the Premier League.

Call yourself an Everton expert? How much did each of these January signings cost?

Indeed, he has 33 goals and 23 assists in 87 matches during his career for AZ, while according to WhoScored he has successfully completed an average of 3.4 dribbles per league fixture during the current campaign.

Bernard and Walcott have 1.3 and 0.6 respectively as a comparison.

The former has primarily played as a left winger this season but has also featured on the right in Everton's previous two fixtures as per Transfermarkt, which could mean that Idrissi could potentially have his preferred left-hand side spot should he sign for the Toffees.

Judging by his recent statistics, he looks to be a real star in the making and would be a worthwhile addition.
