In the end, Everton got the job done against Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

The Toffees went 1-0 up in the first half through Bernard, but when Christian Benteke scored to equalise, there may have been some worried fans in the stands and watching at home. However, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were able to get the job done and give their side a 3-1 victory.

Jordan Pickford, though, did not have the best afternoon overall - he must shoulder the blame for Benteke's goal due to the fact he let the ball creep under his body. Many fans were quick to slam the England international.

You can't blame them considering the terrible mistake he made. The supporters can be grateful that they picked up all three points despite that howler.

Did he play for Everton? Simple question but a lot tougher than you think...

In all fairness, he did make a fantastic save from point-blank range after that, and some supporters were quick to mention just how quick things can change.

At the time, the score was still 1-1, so the 25-year-old does deserve credit for keeping his side level.

Some fans believe that the lack of competition is the reason for his display.

So far this campaign, Pickford has played every match in all competitions. Jonas Lossl, who was the usual back-up, has now gone on loan to Huddersfield, and that leaves just Maarten Stekelenburg as the alternative - he has played just four times in the last two-and-a-half seasons.
