Everton have opened talks with Stoke City regarding the possible signing of Badou N’Diaye, according to the Daily Mail.
The Merseyside outfit have addressed two main problems in their squad by recruiting new players.
Richarlison has arrived from Watford to boost the attacking department, while Lucas Digne will likely succeed Leighton Baines at left-back.
There are other areas of the pitch that could do with some tweaking, including the defence and midfield.
One man who Everton allegedly think could improve the middle of the park is Stoke City’s Badou N’Diaye.
According to the Daily Mail, the Merseyside outfit are in talks over a possible deal for the Senegal international.
If the 27-year-old performs consistently, then there is no reason why he would not boost the team in an area that was a particular weakness last term with Morgan Schneiderlin just one of the players that struggled despite being a regular.
In fact, N’Diaye has power but also speed, which is a good combination when playing centrally.
The midfielder is not afraid of a tackle, but there are times when his first touch lets him down.
Silva could potentially mould N’Diaye into a more compact player, and he would likely prove to be their most important signing of the summer so far – certainly until they finally buy a centre-back.
Transfermarkt has the midfielder rated at £13.5m, but it is likely that Stoke will be pushing for a higher figure.
