Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has some big decisions to make when he selects his team to face Brighton and Hove Albion at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The Toffees will be looking to bounce back from their dismal 1-0 defeat in the FA Cup against arch-rivals Liverpool last weekend, which was their second successive loss under their new boss.

The Athletic claims that the 60-year-old was left 'shocked' at how bad some of the displays were from senior players against Jurgen Klopp's men.

Ancelotti has gone with more of a 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 system in recent matches, with Seamus Coleman playing as a right-sided centre-back and Lucas Digne and Djibril Sidibe as wing-backs.

We think the Italian will go back to basics and use his previously-preferred 4-4-2 formation against Brighton however, with Coleman dropping out of the XI.

Leighton Baines also comes in for Digne with the Frenchman absent from the training videos on Thursday, with Michael Keane also returning to partner Yerry Mina at the heart of the defence ahead of Jordan Pickford.

Ahead of them, Mason Holgate moves into the centre of the pitch after impressing there against Manchester United during Duncan Ferguson's caretaker reign, while Tom Davies is back on the team-sheet having been an unused substitute against Liverpool.

That means Gylfi Sigurdsson and Morgan Schneiderlin - both of whom Ancelotti is reportedly ready to sell - miss out.

Richarlison and Bernard play on the wings with Theo Walcott dropping out, while Moise Kean also comes in to partner Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top as he looks to finally get a goal having gone 20 Everton appearances without one.
