According to Football Insider, incoming Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen to build his team around Toffees duo Richarlison and Lucas Digne, and has sought assurances during negotiations that the pair won't be sold.

What's the word, then?

The report says that the 60-year-old was keen to find out the Merseyside outfit's stance on the players who moved to Goodison Park in the summer of 2018, and was promised during face-to-face talks with Farhad Moshiri that he could build his team around them.

Furthermore, Football Insider report that they would not be sold unless it was authorised by the Italian, who looks set to sign a contract to be named as Marco Silva's successor on Merseyside.

The report adds that Ancelotti sees Richarlison and Digne as the side's most valuable playing assets, which is a view shared by the board.

Good decision by Carlo?

It certainly is.

Digne has been a brilliant addition to the Everton backline and as well as his defensive qualities, he has also scored five goals and provided a further nine assists in 57 appearances in all competitions in a blue shirt.

Meanwhile, Richarlison has an impressive 22 goals in 59 outings for the Toffees, with five assists on top.

The fact that the Brazilian can play on either wing or as a centre-forward means he fits perfectly into Ancelotti's preferred 4-4-2 formation, while six goals in 17 caps for Brazil shows the potential he has given he is still just 22 years of age.
