Everton fans are completely split on which centre back they should sign to partner Michael Keane, with just 51 per cent voting for Jamaal Lascelles over Yerry Mina.

According to The Liverpool Echo, Mina is the Toffees’ top target to take over from Phil Jagielka at the back this season.

The Toffees have already sold Ramiro Funes Mori, and fans are absolutely desperate for an upgrade on Ashley Williams. The Welsh captain was brought in to add muscle and leadership at the back, but his lack of discipline and effort has infuriated fans.

With no signings yet, Jagielka is probably the first choice to partner Keane in the opening game of the season, although Mason Holgate might have something to say about that.

Mina was extremely impressive at the World Cup for Colombia, scoring three goals and showing the kind of defensive form that enticed Barcelona to sign him in January.

Plenty of fans have got their eyes on a different prize though, as West Ham’s bid for Newcastle’s Lascelles has raised a few eyebrows.

The Hammers reportedly had a £25m bid rejected for the Magpies captain as they look to continue their impressive summer spending spree, but 51 per cent of Everton fans want to forget Mina and hijack the Londoner’s move for the popular 6ft 2in ace.
