Everton fans have been discussing a swoop for West Ham target Joao Mario, and nearly two thirds of fans want the versatile midfielder to come to Goodison.
According to GazzaMercato, both Everton and Bournemouth have joined West Ham in the race for Inter Milan’s Mario.
The versatile Portuguese star has been heavily linked with a move to the Hammers after spending the second half of last season on loan there, but the report claims both Everton and Bournemouth are “probing” about a deal.
Mario put in an absolutely dominant midfield shift in the Hammers’ 3-1 win over Everton at the end of the season, so it’s perhaps no surprise he’s caught the eye.
Inter Milan are planning to offload the 25 year-old, but are expected to keep their asking price up around €25m (£22m).
West Ham have of course just signed Jack Wilshere, which could open the door for one of Everton or Bournemouth to swoop in and steal Mario.
The Portuguese international is not a world-beater by any means, but he has a lot of valuable traits and his energy and versatility would be a boost for any team in the league.
Fans clearly like what they see too, as 62 per cent said they should hijack the Hammers’ midfield move.
