Revealed: 64% of Everton fans don’t want Rojo swoop

Everton fans have been discussing their interest in Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo, and nearly two thirds of fans think it would be a huge mistake.

According to GOAL.com, Everton have turned their attentions to Rojo after Barcelona refused to budge from their £35m asking price for Yerry Mina.

Mina has been heavily linked with a switch to Goodison, as the Toffees are dangerously short of defensive options after Ashley Williams followed Ramiro Funes Mori out the exit door.

The Manchester Evening News are also reporting the Rojo story, claiming the feisty Red Devil is “closing in” on a whopping £30m switch to Merseyside.

While Rojo would be an upgrade on the ageing Phil Jagielka and the developing Mason Holgate, he’s not exactly the top class centre back fans have been crying out for.

Michael Keane has been disappointing since his switch from Burnley, and pairing the Englishman with a defender who is prone to lapses of discipline and concentration seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

Fans were massively relieved to finally get rid of Williams this week, and they don’t want Marcel Brands and Marco Silva to repeat the mistakes of old.
