With Richarlison still suspended from Premier League action, Everton boss Marco Silva could call upon either Bernard or Ademola Lookman to take the Brazilian’s place in the starting XI when West Ham United come to Goodison Park on Sunday.
Bernard joined the Toffees this summer on a free transfer, following five trophy-laden seasons with Shakhtar Donetsk. The man with fourteen senior international caps for Brazil is a tremendously talented winger who could have a real impact in the Premier League. However, the 26-year-old has only made one appearance so far this season, which suggests he may still be short of match fitness.
Lookman could come in to take up Richarlison’s vacated berth, and the 20-year-old will certainly be anxious to get his opportunity to prove his quality in the English top flight. Following a bright loan spell with RB Leipzig last season, and a summer in which his future on Merseyside looked to be in the balance, there is certainly plenty of interest in the England under-21 international’s development.
However, 64% of these polled Everton fans would rather see their new signing, Bernard, included from the start against the Hammers, rather than Lookman. See the full results below.
