Everton fans have been discussing an upgrade in their striker department, and over two thirds of fans have voted to sign Genk forward Mbwana Samatta.

According to The Daily Mirror (via HITC), West Ham are “tracking” Samatta, but Everton, Brighton and Burnley are all interested as well.

The 25 year-old, who is a Tanzanian international, has grabbed seven goals in his first nine games of the season in the Jupiler League.

Everton of course have yet to find a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, and while Samatta wouldn’t exactly be a marquee signing, his work rate and eye for goal could be a useful asset for Marco Silva.

The Toffees’ current group of strikers have scored just twice so far this season, with Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin grabbing one each.

Then there is Oumar Niasse, who has barely seen the pitch since the arrival of Silva.

The Richarlison at striker experiment was a huge success against Leicester, but the Toffees cannot rely on a 21 year-old winger as their main source of goals.

69 per cent of fans want to take a gamble on Samatta, and you can view the full poll results down below…
