Loads of Everton fans have been voting on which centre back they should bring to Goodison this summer, and a large majority think Nicolas Nkoulou could be the perfect capture.

According to L’Equipe, Newcastle and West Ham are battling Sevilla for the capture of Torino centre back Nkoulou.

The report claims Sevilla had a bid of around €10m (£8.9M) rejected last week, and if the defender is going around that price then Everton should definitely jump in.

The Toffees have been heavily linked with a move for Yerry Mina, but Nkoulou’s pace could be the perfect combination with Michael Keane’s no nonsense defending.

Capped 72 times by Cameroon despite only turning 28 earlier this year, the 6 ft centre back was one of Serie A’s best performers with Torino last season, averaging 1.5 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and over four clearances per game.

With Ashley Williams expected to follow Ramiro Funes Mori out the exit door at some point this summer, Brands and Silva simply must bring in another centre back, and Nkoulou would cost a whole lot less than Mina.

Fans clearly agree that he would be a good addition, as a whopping 74 per cent voted to sign the 28 year-old. You can find the full poll results down below…
