After over a decade at Arsenal, Theo Walcott joined Everton in January 2018 for a fee of around £20 million. The 47-cap England international made a bright start to life at Goodison Park and continued his strong form into the new campaign.
Recently, however, Walcott has failed to shine on Merseyside. Whilst the likes of Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson have been in scintillating form, the former Arsenal man has faded. Questions must now be asked as to whether the winger still ought to be starting week in week out for the Toffees.
Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman has been reduced to a handful of lively cameos by Marco Silva. The England under-21 international, who enjoyed such an impressive loan spell with RB Leipzig last season, must surely be close to usurping Walcott in the first team.
Many Everton fans feel that time should already have come, with 90% of those we polled voting for Lookman to be the club’s first choice right-winger. See the full results below.
