Everton fans are completely split on a move for Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure, after they were named as one of two clubs that should move for the Frenchman.

Watford’s colossal midfielder will be the subject of interest from plenty of the Premier League’s big boys this summer, after a remarkable season for the Hornets.

The towering Frenchman grabbed seven goals and three assists from midfield, and Soccer Saturday pundit Charlie Nicholas thinks Arsenal and Everton should both be trying to snap him up.

“I'm not a big holding midfield fan but he could easily do that and more for Arsenal with the way he covers the ground,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.

“Everton will surely be looking to snap him up as well.”

Everton are currently without a manager, but with ex-Watford man Marco Silva still the odds on favourite, it would be no surprise to see them do some shopping at Vicarage Road this summer.

Idrissa Gueye is currently the Toffees’ best central midfielder, but the tough tackling international has often been criticised for his ability with the ball, or lack thereof.

Doucoure could add some defensive stability while also offering more going forward than the likes of Gueye and Morgan Schneiderlin, but fans are completely split on the 25 year-old, as exactly 50 per cent of fans said they would back a move.
