Finding a way to fit Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson into the same team has been a constant headache at Everton this season, but one that appears to have solved itself for the majority of the remainder of the campaign with the Iceland international set for a spell on the sidelines through injury.

In his absence last Saturday, Rooney impressed against Stoke City, pulling the strings at the tip of midfield in a vital away win for Sam Allardyce - who has come under pressure from the Goodison faithful in recent months.
