According to results from our recent poll, the majority of Everton fans would be in favour of signing Southampton's Cedric Soares this month - the full-back could be available for as little as £15m this month.

The Sun (print edition, page 53, Friday 11th January 2019) reported last week that the Toffees were pursuing the Portuguese as Marco Silva looks to address some problem areas in his side - in this case, the lack of a competent right-back.

Seamus Coleman has been a faithful servant to the Merseyside outfit in almost nine years at the club, but a series of knocks have seen him lose his legs somewhat - he is no longer capable of the lung-busting, length-of-the-pitch runs that have made him a hit at Goodison Park.

While the signings of defensive trio Yerry Mina, Kurt Zouma and Lucas Digne have provided fresh blood and options for Silva, the right side of his back four looks much weaker - Soares is in his prime at 27 and, here at Football Fancast, we think that the price being quoted in exchange for his services is a very reasonable one.
