Tony Scott of The Liverpool Echo has provided a damning verdict on Everton's Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The 74-cap Iceland international made his 21st Premier League start of the campaign against Arsenal on Sunday, but was quiet on a day where the Toffees sunk to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of their former hero, Mikel Arteta.

He failed to have a shot on target, nor did he register a dribble, while he also committed four fouls - he also had one unsuccessful touch.

It means that Sigurdsson still has just one goal and two assists to his name in England's top-flight this term, which is nowhere near good enough for a player who cost £45m and operates in the No.10 role on a weekly basis.

As a result, Scott has delivered a hard-hitting verdict on the former Swansea and Tottenham man.
