Everton are absolutely desperate to sign a new winger this summer, and AC Milan’s precarious financial situation should have them eyeing a swoop for former Liverpool youngster Suso.

What's the word?

According to The Mirror, Everton will look to use Bolasie to knock around £15m off Wifried Zaha’s price tag.

Marco Silva is definitely chasing a new signing to stick on the wing, but Crystal Palace value their talisman at around £60m, which is a hell of a lot of money. The Toffees have also been heavily linked with Bordeaux winger Malcom, who now looks destined to join Roma.

If Zaha is indeed seen as too expensive then the Blues should shift their focus abroad, where there are plenty of bargains, especially in Serie A.

AC Milan had their ban from European competition lifted this week, but they reportedly need to raise around £45m before the transfer window closes to stave off further sanctions.

The Toffees could force their hand by bidding for Suso, who Transfermarkt value at £31.5m. The Italian giants signed the young Spaniard for free when his Liverpool contract expired in 2015, so they could jump at the chance to make a quick buck given their difficult financial situation.

A playmaking extraordinaire?

If Everton fans remember Suso from his time at Liverpool, they probably remember a technically gifted but timid youngster, who never really made his mark on the Premier League. The 24 year-old has revived his career in Italy though, racking up 15 goals and 25 assists across the last two seasons.

He usually plays from the right, able to cut inside and cause all sorts of danger with his left foot, but he can play anywhere across the attack, even spending some time as a number ten last season.

His best trait is undoubtedly his wonderful ability and composure on the ball, using superb close control and a lighting quick burst of acceleration to breeze past defenders at will. He averaged over two dribbles per game last season, and also drew more than two fouls per game.

End product was the thing that was really missing during his time at Liverpool though, but that problem has completely disappeared since the jump to Milan, as he has transformed into one of Europe’s best playmakers.

He averaged over two key passes and one successful cross per game last season in Serie A, so one has to wonder how many assists he could rack up behind a more lethal striker than the likes of Nikola Kalinic and Andre Silva, both of whom went on massive goal droughts last season.

Suso is 24, in the form of his life, and would love to come back and prove the Premier League wrong. The Spaniard is supremely gifted with the ball at his feet, a playmaking extraordinaire, and has stepped up a level physically in the rough and tumble Serie A.

The thought of Suso linking up with the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Theo Walcott behind the lethal Cenk Tosun is extremely enticing, and Milan’s financial troubles mean he could be available for a lot less than market value.
