Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s headed goal rescued a point for Everton on Saturday as Marco Silva’s men struggled against a dogged Huddersfield Town side at Goodison Park. The young striker’s finish was the only shot on target the Toffees could muster throughout the entire match.
Whilst the Everton squad as a whole haven’t yet fully clicked under Silva, Calvert-Lewin has enjoyed a fine start to the new campaign. He now has three goals in the last two games, having bagged a brace against Rotherham in the midweek Carabao Cup tie.
The 21-year-old was a regular in the Everton match day squad last season, and has been able to retain his place so far under Silva despite the influx of attacking talent that arrived on Merseyside during the summer transfer window.
If the youngster wants to maintain his involvement, then he must be consistent in his performance levels. If he can do that, then Everton could have a real star on their hands.
After his good showing against the Terriers, plenty of Everton fans took to Twitter to celebrate his progress…
When Solanke grows up he wants to be Calvert-Lewin

One for all the haters this…
Since the start of last season, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been directly involved in more goals for Everton in all competitions than any other player (11 goals, six assists).

Calvert Lewin is better than Tosun

I’ve never been a fan of his but Calvert Lewin had a genuinely good game yesterday. I would give him a go up top at some point this season if Tosun is still struggling for goals.

I’d say Gabriel Jesus is probably on or just under Dominic Calvert Lewin’s level tbh.
