There’s life in Everton yet, having scored the equaliser in their game against Arsenal this evening at Goodison Park.
After Alexis Sanchez had put Arsenal 1-0 up thanks to a hugely deflected free-kick which took a knick off Ashley Williams, you would have been forgiven for thinking that the Gunners would run away with proceedings.
Certainly, the Toffees’ recent form suggested that was going to happen, but with their fans whipping up a good atmosphere at Goodison Park they hit back just before half-time.
A fine cross from Leighton Baines in from the left hand side was met by, of all people, Seamus Coleman on the opposite flank, rising unmarked to head the ball home.
It was poor defending from Arsenal – it has to be said – but the Irishman still did well to finish off, leaving us with a very nicely poised game going into the second half.
Twitter certainly enjoyed the goal and here are some of the best of the reactions to it…
