Everton will look to improve their awful recent away record and boost their chances of securing a seventh-place finish in the Premier League this season when they face a struggling Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, on the back of a 2-0 win at home to Brighton and Hove Albion previously.

An own goal from Gaetan Bong and a second goal in as many games for January addition Cenk Tosun saw the Toffees pick up three points that means they have now taken 10 from the last 12 available on their patch, but they haven't been anywhere near as impressive on the road.

The Merseyside outfit travel to the Staffordshire having lost six successive matches in all competitions on their travels, which has dented their chances of finishing as the best of the rest outside of the top six in the Premier League table.

They currently lie ninth and are six points adrift of Burnley in seventh with eight top flight fixtures left this term, and manager Sam Allardyce will know that his side need to take all three points against the lowly Potters if they are to boost their chances of finishing an overall disappointing campaign on a high.

While the Toffees don't have the greatest record away from home in 2018, they will certainly take some solace from the fact their opponents this weekend have the fourth-worst home record in the Premier League this season.

Allardyce will be considering making some changes to the XI that beat Brighton as he looks to turn his side's fortunes around on the road, and he should also look to appease the fans who continue to be against him by making a couple of important alterations to his team.

Here are two big changes the 63-year-old must make when Everton face Stoke…

Keane started alongside Phil Jagielka at the back against Brighton and Hove Albion with Ashley Williams suspended and Eliaquim Mangala injured for the rest of the season.

The summer signing from Burnley has come under fire from Everton supporters for some of his performances this term, with the Goodison Park faithful previously saying they wanted Holgate to start in the backline.

The 21-year-old was a regular earlier in the campaign but has often found himself on the substitutes' bench in recent weeks, and Allardyce would certainly appease the frustrated fans a little by bringing the youngster into the XI to try and help his team pick up three vital points on the road against Stoke.

Klaassen made his first Premier League appearance since September, and just his second since Sam Allardyce took charge, when he played six minutes as a substitute in the 2-0 win against Brighton at Goodison Park last weekend.

It was a rare outing for the summer signing who has struggled to make an impression following his arrival in England from Ajax, with Everton fans frustrated he hasn't been handed more opportunities in recent times.

Allardyce has the perfect opportunity to give him a start at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday with Sigurdsson being ruled out for up to two months because of injury, and it would certainly help to relieve some of the pressure on his poor relationship with the club's supporters.
