Everton certainly aren't settling for anything less than an elite name to replace Marco Silva if recent reports are anything to go by.

The Times reported last week that the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Carlo Ancelotti and Erik ten Hag are on the list of potential replacements for the Portuguese manager, and now Sky Sports have added Unai Emery's name to the list.

According to the report, an informal meeting between the two parties has been held in London, but it is thought that the Spaniard wants more time to mull over his future.

Emery may well have left the Emirates Stadium in a cloud of discontent but he's undoubtedly a name that will provoke excitement amongst the Toffees faithful.

Following three years of extensive spending under Farhad Moshiri, the Everton fans will be hoping the owners' ambition in the transfer market will be reciprocated in the next appointment, and the calibre of names reportedly on the club's shortlist suggest they will get their wish.

Duncan Ferguson, meanwhile, will be hoping to impress the club's hierarchy after beginning what will likely be a temporary stint with an emphatic 3-1 win against Chelsea at Goodison Park.
