According to  Mundo Deportivo, Everton are looking to sign Real Sociedad forward Willian Jose.

What's the story?

Brazilian international Willian Jose has been a revelation since joining Real Sociedad from Las Palmas two yearsago, scoring 20 goals in all competitions this season.

The 26-year-old's knack for hitting the back of the net has made him an obvious choice for goal-shy Everton who only scored 44 times in the league this season.

According to the report, Real Sociedad will not accept an offer below £52million, something which could put off any potential suitors.

Mundo Deportivo also state that 30 per cent of the potential transfer will go to Willian Jose's third-party owners, hence why the asking price is high.

Is it likely?

It is no secret that Everton are after a striker and Willian Jose would fit the bill for what they're looking for. He is a natural goalscorer and at 26, he could still improve yet.

The problem is whether Everton are likely to table an offer that Real Sociedad would accept, needing to break their current transfer record of £44million paid for Gylfi Sigurdsson last summer.

If they do, it will be money well-spent as Willian Jose seems capable of scoring wherever he goes.

At 6ft2 and 93kg, he bullies defenders and is as accurate with his head as his foot.

Proven goalscorers don't come cheap and it's clear that this is one area of the pitch where Everton need serious investment.
