Ex-Chelsea man pays touching tribute to Liverpool legend…

When Fernando Torres completed his move back to Atletico Madrid – via AC Milan – there was the feeling that the one-time prolific striker would return to form at the club where he rose to fame. And a brace against none other than Real Madrid, that killed off any hope of a Los Blancos fight back in the Copa Del Rey, suggested that the Spanish international would become a force to be reckoned with again.

Last night, however, against Barcelona in Spain’s version of the FA Cup, Torres was up to his ol’ tricks again as he seemingly paid tribute to his former team-mate, and Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard.

Torres was bursting through on goal, with just Gerrard Pique between him and the Barcelona goal, when the former Chelsea striker pulled off a moment that had all football fans reminiscing about Gerrard’s infamous slip against the Blues last season.

Personally, I feel the pass is more criminal than the slip…
