Ex-Spurs legend has got Arsenal’s back

After a pretty controversial first game of the weekend, ex-Spurs hero Garth Crooks somewhat lost his mind with referee Mike Dean.

Crooks – whose team of the week is of great amusement to many every Monday – lost his temper with the referee after he sent off two Arsenal players and changed the course of the match.

Crooks’ pure rage took social media by storm and left Arsenal fans feeling vindicated of their earlier rage at the decisions.

The ex-Spurs man was highly critical of Dean who was ‘looking to send people off’ and seemed to think that the referee wanted to be on the camera too much.

The BBC pundit may well have a point, but we all know that referees love to be the centre of attention, don’t we?

Take a look at Crooks’ rampage:

Arsene Wenger was visibly angered after the game, too, here are a few of his quotes from his post-match interview:

An angry Wenger was backed up by Crooks, but what did you make of Dean’s performance?

Are referees too willing to be in the limelight?
