The final 10 minutes of last Sunday’s Premier League clash between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield was full of drama.
The Reds had been leading from the third minute, but in the end, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Victor Wanyama hit a thumping strike into the top corner to level proceedings at 1-1, while Harry Kane netted from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time to cancel out Mohamed Salah’s second goal of the night.
The referee’s decisions were a major talking point after the final whistle as Kane was handed two penalties, the first of which he missed but in reality should never have stood because he was offside.
Some Liverpool fans took issue with the second spot-kick as well, even though Virgil van Dijk swung his leg and appeared to catch Erik Lamela.
On top of that, Kane has been accused of diving for the first penalty, while Dele Alli was booked by the referee for simulation in the box.
In an interview with Sky Sports News on Thursday, Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, who has been heavily criticised throughout his three-and-a-half years at Anfield, expressed disbelief in the referee’s decisions.
Former Tottenham defender Graham Roberts slammed the Croatian’s complaints, and made a dig at the player’s ability.
I can’t believe Lovren Is still going on about the penalties last Sunday let it go and try getting on with being a defender . Oh think that might be to hard
