Fail? Former Southampton rock now playing like paper at Liverpool

Liverpool paid £20million to sign Dejan Lovren from Southampton in hopes of adding some defensive stability into their back line, but based on his recent statistics, this is definitely not the case.

His latest mishap came in the Reds’ recent 3-0 loss at the hands of rivals Manchester United when his missed clearance landed straight into Juan Mata’s path, with the Spaniard passing to Robin van Persie to finish off the move and ensure all three points.

Lovren’s setback at Old Trafford made it the second time his mistake led to an opponent scoring this season while also making the stats during his time with the Saints look like he’s a quality world class centre-back.
