Football is a funny old game.

So is Fantasy Football, especially if you take last weekend in to account. I'd used my weekly slot on FanTV to wax lyrical about Christian Benteke being guaranteed points scorer against a struggling West Ham, as well as Jason Puncheon being the man to provide the Belgian powerhouse with the service.

Instead, Benteke misses a penalty, Puncheon goes missing and Palace lose to the Hammers 1-0 at Selhurst Park.

I also spoke about my thoughts on potentially selling Sergio Aguero due to his ongoing injury concerns, but having kept him in my FPL team I decided to give him the armband. The Argentine starts on the bench and the comes off it to miss a penalty against Everton, who's goalkeeper I decided to bench at the very last minute.

So one word sums up my FPL performance from last week: NIGHTMARE!

Anyway, it's still early in the season and I've got time to redeem myself. This week I was rejoined by Jack Rosser on the lime green sofa at FanTV and, as expected, he and presenter Toby Tarrant took the opportunity to remind me of my woeful FPL tips from the week before.

But after the banter is over with, Jack and I get on with this week's tips.

We discussed potential Zlatan Ibrahimovic alternatives after he went a fourth consecutive Premier League game without a goal as well as replacements for Man City's John Stones, who is yet to register a clean sheet in a City shirt.

But the big tips this week was looking for value in midfield. There is limited value in strikers at the moment with just one or two consistently delivering every week, so we suggest looking at high scoring midfielders - particularly ones who are playing as strikers - who could prove to be better value than an expensive striker like Zlatan.

So have a watch of our tips in the video below to see what we think you should be doing with you FPL team this week...
