FIVE Manchester United players set for the January bullet?

Things at Old Trafford may have seemed rather rosy at the start of the summer with Sir Alex Ferguson officially handing over the reins to David Moyes as the new Manchester United boss, but the former Everton manager has inherited a squad that can hardly be described as the epitome of footballing health.

Overall, the Red Devils squad has an average squad age of 27, and various departments – most notably central midfield and on the flanks – haven’t been up to scratch for some time.

After making just a single signing in the summer in the form of Marouane Fellaini to boost United’s Premier League title-defence campaign, Moyes is expected to tailor and trim his squad in the January transfer window to make room for some fresh faces.

With that in mind, we take a look at the FIVE Red Devils who could be shown the exit door at Christmas to make room for new recruits.
