FIVE ‘starlets’ on Jose’s transfer radar at Chelsea

Earlier in the season, returning Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho quipped that he sees his Blues squad as; “Beautiful young eggs, eggs that need a mum, in this case a dad, to take care of them, to keep them warm during the winter, to bring the blankets and to work and improve them and one day we’ll arrive in a moment when the weather changes, the sun rises, we break the eggs and the eggs are ready to go for life at the top level.”

And indeed, emphasis on youth, stability and longevity at Stamford Bridge were buzzwords of his opening press conference upon re-taking the reins in West London at the start of the summer.

But the Premier League title-hopefuls’ average squad age is still 27, which is hardly what you’d describe as ‘spring chicken’ territory, and therefore, Mourinho is expected to invest in youth and potential in the transfer market over the course of the next few years.

So with that in mind, here’s FIVE budding youngsters from across Europe currently on the Blues’ gaffer’s transfer wishlist.
