The Premier League weekend didn't disappoint once again with some breath-taking goals, devastating displays, and the usual suspects ensuring yet another three points.

Manchester United struggled at Old Trafford once again, while Chelsea made it seven victories on the bounce to maintain top spot in the Premier League.

However, the weekend also witnessed one of the greatest Premier League games in the competition's 25-year history, as Swansea managed to secure a 5-4 victory over relegation rivals Crystal Palace, to ensure Alan Pardew's men suffered a sixth successive league defeat, via two injury time goals from Fernando Llorente.

In amongst all the struggles, Josh Sims became yet another Southampton graduate to make a Premier League debut in the Saints 1-0 victory over Everton.

Looking back at all the action, what have we learned from this weekend's results? We here at FootballFanCast we have dissected all the big talking points here are FIVE significant lessons...

A generation has not witnessed Tottenham travel the short fourteen miles to Stamford Bridge and return to north London with three points.

Saturday's defeat in West London further added to Spurs' pain and angst. Since 1990, they have played Chelsea 27 times at the Bridge and failed to record a single victory.

Everything was looking promising following Christian Eriksen's opener, but even with the Blues playing so poorly, goals from Pedro and Victor Moses secured a seventh straight league victory for Antonio Conte's side.

Old Trafford is no longer a fortress

An extremely worrying statistic for Manchester United fans is Jose Mourinho has been sent to the stands as many times as his side have won at home!

Sunday's 1-1 draw with West Ham meant the Red Devils have secured just one league victory at home since August.

Even more frightening, Mourinho has now recorded a worse start to his Old Trafford career than his predecessors, securing just 20 points from thirteen games.

Conversely, David Moyes picked up 21 points from the same number of games while Louis van Gaal recorded 22.

Coutinho could miss a few games...

If there is one thing every football fan fears more than anything else, it's when their star player is forced off through injury.

Saturday's victory over Sunderland had significant consequences for Liverpool as Philippe Coutinho looks set to be sidelined for many months.

The diagnosis is yet to be confirmed. However, Coutinho looked in bad shape following a collision with Didier N'Dong and may miss a major period in the Reds pursuit of an inaugural Premier League crown.

Just one team have survived the wrath of Sergio Aguero

Two goals from Sergio Aguero on Saturday secured three points for Manchester City at Turf Moor. However, his first goal meant Aguero has scored against every time he has faced in the Premier League except one.

Bolton Wanderers remain the only side Aguero has not managed to score against in the Premier League following his goals against Burnley.

The Argentine is unlikely to break that record anytime soon, but the statistic further emphasises his importance at the Etihad Stadium.

Alan Pardew must go

Alan Pardew

Crystal Palace proved once again they are incapable of keeping a clean sheet.

Alan Pardew is certainly a man under pressure and despite his allegiance to the south Londoners, the majority of the Selhurst Park faithful are turning on their manager following the club's 5-4 defeat to Swansea City.

With the squad Pardew currently possesses, Palace should be in contention for the top eight rather than the bottom three. Sacking Pardew looks the only way forward.
