Former Liverpool star beats Chelsea playmaker as Europe’s pass master

Although Xabi Alonso is no longer a Liverpool player, the fact that he is currently Europe’s pass master ahead of Chelsea’s on-form playmaker Cesc Fabregas will surely get him smiling.

The former Reds midfielder completed more passes in less games than a host of European stars, beating the likes of Paris Saint-Germain trio Marco Verratti, Thiago Motta, and Javier Pastore in second, third, and fourth respectively, with Fabregas coming in fifth.

If only Brendan Rodgers was able to lure him back to Anfield, maybe the Spaniard playing alongside Steven Gerrard can spark the club back to their Champions League winning days.
