Phil Neville got some serious stick his World Cup punditry for BBC Sport last summer.
The former Man United and and Everton defender made his commentary debut over in Brazil and, given the clear competition and favouritism within the punditry game, had a hard time winning over the fans with his, erm, voice.
But, after all of that, he does actually have one admirer. Hollywood actress Keira Knightly was singing his praises in a recent interview with Shortlist TV, saying: “I thought he was rather good, I didn’t understand what the problem was.”
The BBC received over 400 complaints from fans who were unhappy with the standard of Neville’s punditry, which is pretty sad if you think about it.
But anyway, it’s alright Phil, Keira’s got your back…
