Damien Duff poised for Everton trip

Fulham will be boosted by Damien Duff’s return for Saturday’s trip to Everton as Steve Sidwell starts the first of a four-game ban.

Winger Duff has made good progress following a thigh injury and should be involved in boss Martin Jol’s plans for the game at Goodison Park, while midfielder Sidwell is suspended following his red card in the 1-0 defeat against Arsenal at Craven Cottage last Saturday.

However, Jol can recall loan man Emmanuel Frimpong into his midfield after he was ineligible to face parent club Arsenal last week.
Defender Sascha Riether is doubtful because of an ankle injury, while midfielders Mahamadou Diarra, Ashkan Dejagah and Simon Davies are sidelined with respective ankle, knee and hip problems.

Meanwhile, Bulgarian defender Stanislav Manolev, who has confirmed his desire to turn his loan move from PSV Eindhoven into a permanent deal this summer, has stressed that the Cottagers want a top-ten finish now they are safe from any relegation fears.

He said: “We have to forget the Arsenal game. I think we will play better against Everton.

“The manager says everyone wants to finish in the top ten. It’s not easy but we will fight.”
