German international shows exactly why Man United and Arsenal want him so badly

Borussia Dortmund are no longer bottom of the Bundesliga is certainly a sentence I never thought I’d write – and definitely a sentence you never thought you’d read! However, after propping up the rest of the German top flight, Jurgen Klopp’s side moved off of the bottom of Germany’s top flight following a 1-0 win over Hoffenheim last night.

Yet again, Mats Hummels was crucial for Dortmund, as Arsenal’s Champions League opponents bagged a much-needed three points and clean sheet. Although, things could’ve been a lot different if it wasn’t for the German international’s superb defensive work.

Hoffenheim’s free-kick looked destined for the top corner before Hummels’ intervention. No doubt that would’ve added a few more zeroes to his transfer fee but that won’t put off Arsenal and Manchester United who are both linked with a January move for the centre-back given their defensive troubles.
