Arsenal legend Ray Parlour wants Arsene Wenger to sign Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, according to the Daily Star.
The Gunners boss is growing increasingly under pressure to deliver big name signings this January after yet another disappointing performance in a 2-1 defeat to Swansea at the weekend.
And Parlour believes Matic is just the man to give Arsenal’s midfielder some much needed organisation.
He said: “I think he needs Matic from Chelsea, he’d be the perfect player to have just sit in front of the back four and that’s what he’s got to look at.
“That’s what he’s got to look at, he’s got to look at that defensive midfielder, he’s got to look at another centre half and buy defensive players now and good characters as well who can really get into players.
“I used to play in front of Lee Dixon and Tony Adams and when we were up against it they would put you in positions, exactly where they wanted you to be.
“That’s where they’ve got to get better.”
Arsenal have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, including Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin, Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho and Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels.
