Valencia supporters have been showing Gary Neville the exit for for some time now and it looks like he’s getting the message. The England assistant has failed to impress in a tough La Liga this season winning just three of sixteen matches and after their recent 2-0 loss to Celta Vigo, fans chanted “Neville go now.”
Unless he can dramatically turn things around, both parties will reportedly agree to part ways at a meeting next month. This begs us to ask the question: did Gary Neville bite off more than he could chew by taking this managerial job? Was he prepared for the high-pressure role that came with a side like Valencia?
Neville played all of his club football in England and had no previous experience in Spain. He’s been an assistant for England for a few years now, but has he ruined his coaching reputation with this poor showing at Valencia? It’s safe to say that he should’ve managed in the England before he took jobs elsewhere. Still, opportunities to coach a club like Valencia don’t come around too often.
But what do you think, was you wrong to have accepted the job? Vote below…
