Jordan Henderson has been criticised a fair amount since he took the Liverpool armband after Steven Gerrard’s departure, with many not even thinking the midfielder is good enough for the first-team, but those opinions have been proved wrong.
The Reds skipper has helped his side climb to top of the Premier League with 11 matches played and his involvement has been impressive, although not quite as headline grabbing as team-mates Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane.

Statistics emerging today show that only Paris Saint-Germain’s Thiago Motta has completed more passes in Europe’s top five leagues this season, with Henderson’s numbers putting him ahead of Bayern Munich’s Thiago, Napoli’s Marek Hamsik and Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos.
Now sat top of the perch in the Premier League and there to be shot down by their rivals, Liverpool face a stern test in the next six weeks as the campaign enters the manic festive period but the Reds will be confident of getting out the other end in a good position.
