‘Hopefully they start’: Arsenal fans looking for squad changes v Koln

Arsenal find themselves out of the Champions League for the first-time under Arsene Wenger this season and the squad will have to adjust to playing on Thursday evenings in Europe.

The Gunners will look towards Manchester United’s victory in the competition last year as inspiration this season, although the majority have made it clear that the campaign on the continent should be prioritised beneath the Premier League campaign.

Arsenal cannot afford to make too many changes for their opening match against Koln though following a poor start to the new season, where they’ve lost two of four matches, but alterations do need to be made as the Gunners face the stern test of a trip to face defending champions Chelsea on Sunday.

Wenger has a strong squad at his disposal though and the Europa League campaign can provide the opportunity for players outside of the established first-team XI the chance to shine, with fans make it clear they want to see two players feature in particular.
