HYS: Should Adam Lallana start ahead of Georginio Wijnaldum in Champions League final?

It’s been a stop-start season for Adam Lallana, one that’s resulted in him missing out on a place in England’s 23-man squad for the World Cup and having to settle for a spot on the standby list instead.

But Jurgen Klopp will be more than aware of the technical and creative quality the England international brings to his Liverpool side, and that could be crucial on Saturday when the Reds take on reigning European champions Real Madrid in the 2017/18 Champions League final.

It’s a big gamble, considering the 30-year-old has managed just three starts all season. But looking at Liverpool’s likeliest midfield for the showdown in Kiev, Georginio Wijnaldum – who started last time out against Brighton – represents probably the weakest link, bearing in mind the sheer power and intensity Jordan Henderson and James Milner offer in the engine room.

So, Liverpool fans, would you go with the safer option of the 47-cap Dutchman, or take a risk by starting the more creative Lallana, who Transfermarkt value at £22.5million? Let us know by voting below…
