HYS: Should Chelsea sell David Luiz to Arsenal?

Sometimes great footballers gradually fade away, sometimes they lose their place in the first team and are never seen again. That latter outcome directly applies to Chelsea defender David Luiz; he started the season as arguably the most important defender in the Blues’ three-man backline, but now finds himself almost completely out of the first team picture and replaced in the starting XI by youngster Andreas Christensen.

The big switch happened when Chelsea recorded a huge home victory over Manchester United and the 56-cap Brazil international has made just one appearance since, against Qarabag in the Champions League. That has lead The Express to claim that Luiz has emerged as a January transfer target for Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Blues fans will be bitterly disappointed to see such a popular figure trade his London allegiances but Luiz is 30 years of age, is being frozen out by Antonio Conte and could fetch them £30million – the value of Arsenal’s planned bid. So, Chelsea fans, should your club sell Luiz to the Gunners in January? Let us know by voting below…
