Newly-promoted Fulham’s start to the new Premier League campaign plumbed embarrassing new depths on Monday night. A 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town - giving the Terriers their first win of the season - saw the Cottagers hit rock-bottom of the table for the first time.

The loss took the west London club’s tally of goals conceded so far to 29 - by far the worst defensive record in the top flight. At this stage, Slavisa Jokanovic’s position as manager must be under serious threat.

Having spent over £100m in the summer, Fulham have a squad of players that ought to be more than capable of securing Premier League survival. However, their defensive indiscipline and tactical naivety could well cost them their place amongst England’s elite.

If something doesn’t change drastically, and soon, then Fulham’s return to the Premier League will turn out to be a brief one. That change must begin in the Craven Cottage dugout, with Jokanovic being replaced now before it’s too late.

What do you think, Fulham fans - should the 50-year-old’s time be up?
