HYS: Should Stoke swoop for Chris Wood?

It’s not been a particularly enjoyable summer for Stoke City fans thus far, perhaps epitomised best by Marko Arnautovic leaving the Bet365 Stadium for West Ham – a club the Potters should be competing with at a bare minimum next season.

But the signing of Kurt Zouma on loan has eased the tension somewhat and recent reports from Mirror Football suggest at least one more acquisition could take place before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Indeed, they claim Stoke are one of three clubs tracking Leeds United front-man Chris Wood, who finished top of the Championship’s scoring charts last season with 27 goals in 44 appearances.

With Peter Crouch not getting any younger, Saido Berahino yet to deliver and Arnautovic and Jonathan Walters both moving on this summer, Stoke are certainly in need of some extra fire power.

So, Potters fans, is the 52-cap New Zealand international, who Leeds reportedly value at £20million, the man to fill the void in attack? Let us know if you’d back a transfer swoop for Wood by voting below…
