Last week, Premier League clubs voted to close the transfer window early, meaning it will shut next summer before the first game of the 2018/19 season.
While many see it as a positive move following a start to the season which saw a number of huge Premier League stars sit on the sidelines for the first three games, awaiting a big move elsewhere, there are some disadvantages too.
Most notably, foreign clubs will still be able to buy players from Premier League clubs and conduct business elsewhere until the end of August, which could have a massive impact during a World Cup year.
And for Tottenham Hotspur particularly, it will surely affect Daniel Levy’s usual tactic of waiting until the final days of the transfer window to secure some shrewd deals – Davinson Sanchez, Serge Aurier and Fernando Llorente all arriving late this summer.
So, Spurs fans, when do you think the transfer window should close? Let us know by voting below…
