Tottenham host Liverpool at Wembley this Saturday lunchtime, with the Reds heading into the game sitting at the top of the table having only conceded one goal in four games so far this season.

Spurs won their first three games of the campaign, which included a 3-0 victory over Manchester United, conceding just two goals but before the international break the Lilywhites fell to a 2-1 defeat away at Watford.

Mauricio Pochettino has yet to decide on his best system and how to deploy his defenders, and the Argentine has swapped between a back four and back five, but his side looked most settled in a 4-3-1-2 formation away at Old Trafford with Vertonghen and Alderweireld in central defence.

Jurgen Klopp on the other hand seems to have struck upon his perfect back four. With the new Scotland captain Andrew Robertson at left-back, Virgil van Dijk and young Joe Gomez, who has displaced Dejan Lovren, in the middle and England starlet Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.

Here at Football FanCast, we would love to see a combined back four of Robertson, Vertonghen, van Dijk and Trippier.

Ahead of the game on Saturday though, we'd like you to rank the two side's defenders to find out who you think is best. Have your say by voting in the poll below.
