After impressing in a cameo role from the bench against Manchester City last weekend, Lucas Torreira could well get the nod to start for Arsenal when they make the trip to Chelsea on Saturday.
His nippiness in midfield will be key to stifling Eden Hazard’s influence, and the Uruguay international is exactly the kind of player the Gunners have desperately lacked in the middle of the park over the last few years.
The only conundrum for Unai Emery is who to start alongside Arsenal’s summer signing, assuming the new Gunners gaffer will stick with his trusted 4-2-3-1 setup.
Granit Xhaka – who Transfermarkt value at £36million – certainly didn’t convert many critics with an almost anonymous display against City, whereas youngster Matteo Guendouzi endured a mixed debut that showed both his qualities and his flaws.
