According to AS, news that Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is prepared to sell Yannick Ferreira Carrasco in January has alerted both Chelsea and Arsenal.
According to AS, Simeone has given the green light for Carrasco to leave the Wanda Metropolitano when the January transfer window opens for business.
Vitolo and Diego Costa will both be available for Atletico as of next month, whilst the presence of Angel Correa, Kevin Gameiro, Fernando Torres and Antoine Griezmann means that the capital club are well stocked in forward positions.
It is understood that Carrasco has been involved in a number of training ground bust-ups with teammates during his time at the club, and Simeone wants rid at the start of 2018.
The news has reportedly attracted the attention of both Chelsea and Arsenal, with the London clubs said to be long-term admirers of the Belgium international.
Carrasco joined Atletico from Monaco in the summer of 2015, and the winger scored five times in 43 appearances during his first season with the capital club.
The 24-year-old scored 14 times during a very impressive 2016-17 campaign, meanwhile, and was linked with both Chelsea and Arsenal last summer.
Carrasco has also been in decent form for Atletico this season – scoring three times and registering three assists in 12 La Liga appearances.
It seems that Simeone has decided to sell the Belgian next month, and it would be fair to say that Atletico will not be short of interest due to the winger’s undoubted talent.
Carrasco is actually contracted to Atletico until the summer of 2022 – placing the Spanish side in a strong position – and it appears that Chelsea and Arsenal will have to come up with big offers if they are to secure his signature.
