According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United want to tie up a £30m deal for Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler ahead of next summer's transfer window.

What's the story?

Soler, 20, is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in Spanish football.

The midfielder broke into the Valencia first team last season, and ended the 2016-17 campaign having made 18 appearances in all competitions.

The Spain Under-21 international has scored once and provided four assists in nine league appearances this season, meanwhile, helping Los Che to second position in La Liga after a brilliant start to the campaign.

According to the Daily Mail, United boss Jose Mourinho is a firm admirer of Soler's talents, and the Portuguese sees him as the perfect foil for Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in the middle of the park.

Would Valencia let him go for £30m?

Soler is contracted to Valencia until the summer of 2021, whilst the fact that the midfielder's deal includes a £75m buyout seems to place the Spanish side in a strong position when it comes to negotiation.

Los Che are not in a position to turn down a big-money offer, however, and it seems likely that United could sign the youngster for a figure in the region of £30m.

United will not be the only club interested in a player that boasts excellent statistics this season, but it seems that the 20-time English champions have moved quickly in a bid to hold off any competition.

Soler, who came through the youth system at Valencia, could well star for Spain at the 2018 World Cup, and if United have things their way, he will go from Russia to Manchester to link-up with his new teammates.
