Manchester United will be relieved after Matteo Darmian revealed he is fine despite being forced off with an injury during the 1-0 defeat to Southampton, as reported by the Mirror.
The 26-year-old was taken off during the 60th minute after a mid-air clash with Saints striker Shane Long and was sent to the hospital for scans.
However, the Italy international has admitted via his Twitter account that he is fine and will be back in action very soon.
“Thank you all for the support, I’m fine! See you soon”, he wrote.
His swift recovery will be seen as a huge boost for under-fire manager Louis van Gaal as he has number of injury concerns in defence.
Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, and Marco Rojo are all still unavailable for selection.
United eventually lost the match courtesy of a header from Southampton’s January signing Charlie Austin as Louis van Gaal comes under to increased pressure at Old Trafford.
The result sees them move further away from their objective of a top four finish, with five points now separating them and fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur.
