Arsenal in recent years have never been able to quite make a team good enough to win the Premier league title or Champions league and this has partly been due to their defensive frailty’s. Ever since 2004 when that incredible squad became The Invincibles, they have never really been able to have a long consistent or dominant run of games and been defensively strong on a regular basis.
However Brazilian central defender Gabriel Paulista has not lost in an Arsenal shirt since arriving from Villareal with 10 wins and 1 draw in his 11 games for the Gunners and despite not starting regularly or catching the eye of pundits he could well be the key for Arsenal to kick start there team and finally perform on the main stage.
Whereas another team who have under performed in recent years is Liverpool have also failed to assemble a winning squad with former Reds player and legend Steven Gerrard partly blaming Rafa Benitez for this saying he should not have sold Xabi Alonso. But as far as Arsenal are concerned it may be the case they are nearly there if Gabriel plays and lives up to the statistics that say he is a solid defender.
