Italians deny Man United and Chelsea double swoop

Inter Milan president Erick Thohir has denied that the club are looking to sign Javier Hernandez from Manchester United and Fernando Torres from Chelsea in the summer, according to the Metro.

The Italian giants have already set about rebuilding their squad, by completing the signing of Hernanes from Lazio in the summer, and announcing Nemanja Vidic will be joining at the end of the season.

Thohir has promised a big summer spending spree, but has ruled out the suggestion he is looking to sign the pair of Premier League strikers.

“At the end of the season we will evaluate everything, both the young players and the more experienced ones,” Thohir said at a press conference on Monday.

“We want to build a strong squad for the future with a view not just to next season but to the next three.

“I think he Hernandez is a good player. But we haven’t spoken to either him or Fernando Torres.”

Both forwards have been linked with a move away from the Premier League this summer.

Hernandez has struggled for regular first team football at Old Trafford, while Torres has once again struggled for Premier League goals, and has often found himself second choice behind Samuel Eto’o at Stamford Bridge.
